Topdon Rlink J2534 Not Supported by MDI Error Solution

Problem:

I tried diagnosing my vehichle with Topdon Rlink J2534 GDS2 and received the prompt, “At least one of the control modules requires a commuinication protocol that is not supported by MDI. Please use MDI2 or equivalent.” It will not communicate with a few modules. For example, it will not communicate with Forward Camera and Electric Power Steering modules.

There is no MDI mode present with the latest driver.

Any solution?

 

Solution:

The vehicle you are diagnosing has a DOIP-protocol ECU. When performing diagnostics on DOIP vehicles, please select the RLink DOIP driver mode.

If you are programming a DOIP module, make sure to select RLink DOIP driver mode.
