Problem:

Topdon Phoenix Max diagnostic scanner cannot connect to MDCI Pro VCI. It said Bluetooth connection attempt failed many times.

Anyone ever get this message? How to fix it?

Topdon Phoenix Bluetooth Connection Attempt Failed Error

Possible solutions:

1). Go to settings, switch the connection mode to WiFi from Bluetooth for the MDCI connection mode.  If the dongle connects fine, then there is most likely an issue with the Bluetooth either in the MDCI or the tablet. You can see if you can pair another Bluetooth device to the max for testing.

2). Shut down the Phoenix tool to get it to reconnect.

3). The other thing you can try is to reset the Bluetooth connection in the Android settings. It will reset the Bluetooth and WiFi system.

4). Do a firmware repair on your device: tap User Info > select Fix MDCI Firmware/System > tap Firmware Fix. Then enter the OBD diagnostic menu.

Kindly record a video of this entire process and share it with Topdon technical service team, along with your device’s SN (serial number). Topdon will check the issue for you.
